You Are Not Here as a Punishment

“You are not here as a punishment,” states Goswami Kriyananda. “You came here of your own free will.” Why? Either you had a taste for the more concrete fulfillment of your desires, so you drove yourself down into this section of time and space. Or you were up there in some state of emotionality. You came down into this concrete universe, this Garden of God, to learn how to correct your emotionalities. It is best to learn through gentleness, but some of us have created very hard lessons for ourselves.
